Tackle Twill

  What is tackle Twill?

Tackle twill (or applique) is made by cutting pieces of one material and applying them to the surface of another material. Tackle twill is used usually when you want a bold look to your design but want to keep the stitch count down for the sake of affordability. The designs are usually pretty simple but can become as detailed as you would like, incorporating different fabrics with embroidery stitching. The Cats logo (picture on leftt) sometimes use a tackle twill base with embroidered features. This combination reduces the number of embroidery stitches needed while creating a three-dimensional work of art.

 Who uses Applique/ Tackle Twill ?

Tackle Twill is the preferred choice for both professional sports teams and school athletic organizations when decorating jerseys and uniforms. Look closely at what your favorite football, baseball, or hockey player is wearing on the field. His or her garment has most likely been embellished with personalized tackle twill names and numbers.

Many banners used at corporate events and charity functions also use a combination of tackle twill and embroidery for a richer look and long term durability.
